I received word today that "Precious Angel" is blind. He is off the vent, but is blind. The extent of additional damage is unknown at this point. Keep Praying.
Several News Stations have also been contacted and they are interviewing former parents and other people who have knowledge of previous complaints and investigations on this day care.
Pray for this family, pray for this little guy, and pray that justice is carried out!

Need a smile?
Scatterbrains
My goodness I can't think today! I'm so scatterbrained. I have about 12 things that are big projects that I need to be doing right now.
It's not that I'm not motivated...I just can't focus on one thing long enough to get something done! Is there help for me? (without having to add a self help book to my list LOL)

A Precious Angel
Good Evening All,
Writing is thereapy for me and Blogging is something I've wanted to do for quite some time. There's no time like now to start...
Many of you know that I have been blessed with a precious little boy who was given to us at Birth. He is my miracle. Shane and I waited and waited for him and God answered our prayers. I knew that I would love this precious child, but I had no idea I would be IN LOVE with him. I am so incredibly thankful for him.
I have such a heavy heart today.
This morning, i awoke to a text message. It was from a friend of mine who owned the daycare Shawn spent his first year in. The message read "This is eally upsetting, a mother went to pick up her baby at candy cane daycare yesterday, he was found in the crib, blue, not responsive, and was airlifted to children's. They found bruising to his brain and is on a ventilator. Don't know if he's gonna make it. Please pray for this 11 month old and his family"
Now here's the deal...
Shane and I became foster parents in 2006. The first two children we had were at Candy Cane DayCare for a BRIEF time. I found that a worker had been fired for calling the state and reporting that in 90 degree weather, they were allowed no air in the nursery. NOT ALLOWED TO TURN ON THE AIR.. Also that children who would not lay still on cots were held down with the FOOT OF THE TEACHER to keep them lying down!!! This was enough for me to pull the kids and file a complaint with DHR and with the state. I found out that this was among a LONG LONG list of complaints against this facility. Each time something was done, Candy Cane Daycare would open back up under some church "umbrella" allowing them to be exempt from state regulations.
WHY!!! WHY IS THIS ALLOWED???
This is the same facility that this 11 month old was airlifted from yesterday. The latest word is he is off the vent...but not responsive...it's touch and go at this point. HE'S 11 MONTHS OLD.
WHY? WHY? WHY????
I am so heartbroken and cannot imagine what this family is going through.
My prayers go out to this family and friends.
